Eta Theta Sigma is dedicated to excellence through sisterhood, scholarship, and service. One of our goals is to enhance the quality of life for youth in our community by providing financial assistance through scholarships, to qualified graduating seniors living in Silver Spring, Maryland and active Eta Theta Sigma Rhoers, attending a college or university.

 

Golden Excellence Scholarship

Eligibility

 

• We are seeking qualified graduating seniors who meet the following eligibility criteria: 

 

• Students who reside in Silver Spring, MD or an active Eta Theta Sigma Rhoer; 

• Students who will be attending a 2 or 4 year college/university in the summer/fall; and

• Students who possess a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.  

 

Required Supporting Documents

 

• Official high school transcript, containing a cumulative 2.5 or higher GPA (weighted) from the first semester of your senior year. 

• One letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or administrator. The letter must be written on the school’s letterhead.  

• One official letter of acceptance from a college or university for the summer/fall of 2023. The letter must be written on the college or university’s letterhead. 

• An essay consisting of a minimum of 250 words, explaining how you will use your education and degree to support and uplift your community. This is included in the application or you may email it along with your other supporting documents.
